This workshop is for all those who would love to get creative with gift-wrapping for the upcoming Christmas and holiday season whilst reducing our burden on the planet. Every year millions of us discard metres of expensive gift wrap, ribbons and tags; this is your opportunity to get creative and make your own reusable fabric for gift-wrapping! Click here for full workshop details.
We will be creating our own printed fabric using wooden block prints. Traditional hand carved blocks from India have been used for centuries to create design imprints and patterns onto fabric. In this workshop you will have the opportunity to explore patterns and colours and create your own fabric that can be used over and over again.
You can also create your own printed gift tags to match. Seeded card is used for these tags so that gift tags can be planted into the garden, your gift keeps on giving as beautiful flowers emerge from the garden!
We will also be practicing some simple fabric wrapping techniques, a Japanese technique known as Furoshiki to make your gifts look polished.
